Join us for a showing of this 2025 movie, Train Dreams, Based on the local author Denis Johnson's novella. Movie and book fans will have a chance to see the Oscar-nominated movie Train Dreams on the big screen, and the event will include a discussion of the movie and the book it was adapted from.

Keokee Publishing's and Chris Bessler will lead an after film discussion featuring Jack Nisbet, the film's history consultant and Denis Johnson's friend, Barb Rawlings.

This story follows Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton), a stoic laborer in the early 20th-century American West who struggles with profound loss and the rapid modernization of the Idaho wilderness. After losing his wife and daughter in a wildfire, he endures a life of quiet isolation, haunted by trauma and the changing landscape.
